Did you know that virtual reality has a great potential in engineering industry? While the most common utilisation of VR in engineering is for design reviews, it is still unclear about advantages of VR in comparison to traditional screens. Indeed, some studies even showed that VR was not beneficial.

Of course, everything is about finding right approach to compare these two technologies. Nikola’s PhD research is exactly about that. To develop an experimental framework which could be used as a cookbook to compare VR and traditional screens for team-based design reviews. Using this framework, he will identify several factors that might be critical to decide whether to use VR or not! The research is being conducted with a watchful eye supervision of Stanko Škec (https://www.cadlab.fsb.hr/en/chair/st…), and in collaboration with a team from University of Zagreb:

More will come soon. Until then, check out the video and give some ideas that you think might be worth analysing.
